Semi Gantry Crane

BMG semi gantry crane consists of two main beams, an electric trolley, and a supporting leg on one side. This design allows one end of the crane to be fixed to a building wall, column or other structure, while the other end is supported by independent legs. Adopting this structure of gantry crane can fully utilize the site space. The main beam adopts a box-welded structure, and the large vehicle operating mechanism is driven separately. Semi-gantry crane operation includes ground operation, remote control operation, and cabin operation.

There are two conductive forms of semi-gantry cranes: cables and sliding contact wires. Such a structure allows the semi-gantry crane to cover a larger working area and provide an efficient material handling solution in limited spaces

Semi-gantry cranes can be divided into single-girder and double-girder semi gantry cranes based on their structure. The following are the characteristics of the two types:

Single Girder Semi Gantry Crane

Features a single main girder with an electric hoist suspended below the main girder for operation. The lifting capacity typically ranges from 1 to 20 tons (some models can reach up to 32 tons). It features a simple structure, lightweight design, and easy installation and maintenance, compatible with ground tracks or fixed legs. It typically adopts a box girder or truss girder design, with box girders offering better manufacturability and truss girders providing stronger wind resistance.

It is suitable for spaces with limited area and for handling medium to small-sized materials, such as factories, workshops, warehouses, and logistics centers without column support.

Double Girder Semi-Gantry Crane

Features two parallel main beams, with an electric hoist mounted on a trolley that runs along the track above the main beams. It can be equipped with various lifting devices (such as electromagnetic clamps, grabs, etc.). The lifting capacity is generally 5 to 50 tons. Compared to single-beam cranes, it has a more stable structure and is suitable for heavy-duty loads and long spans, such as steel mills, ports, terminals, heavy equipment manufacturing, and other high-load working environments.
